Irving Penn recently died October 7th 2009. He died at age 92. He was very famous for his photography. He would shoot pictures of his subject with a black and white background. He was very famous for shooting for vogue magazines. He wanted to focus the shot mostly on the character so he would make the backdrop very simple and the character dramatic.
